@robenkleene @b0rk I second the non-designer design book. It propose that you can get a "professional" design, aka something that feel intentional and coherent, by having 4 strong rules, contrast, repetition, alignment and proximity.
It won't help you do great design or get specific look but it will keep you clear from bad ones.
