@Moondancer on the subject of genetics, I've read knowing a period of famine-like can trigger in the next two generation syndromes that cause easy mass gain. Truly cursed.

My step-dad is like 200 pounds for 175cm. He also work in the french military where they have regular medical exam and watch their BMI. Which is a reglar issue. Until they see him. He come from new-caledonia. Not fat at all. But BMI suck

@Moondancer fun fact about that anecdote, once my mom started a "chrono nutrition" "diet" and step dad followed. It's like heavy on protein, low on carb but without giving impression of restriction on western european. He lost like 20 pounds which mostly went into more muscles. Before seeing him, doctor got scared he has gotten sick
