@amorphophalex this remind me of the bauhaus, which to my understanding was something today would be called a design school. An art school mixing a lot of discipline pushing toward mass production.
One story coming from there is students doing woodworking meeting with metalworkers. Metalworking work by heating a piece of metal, shaping it and cooling it down usually with a water bath, woodworker decided to do the same. That's how we got rocking chair.
